A special message to Daddy, who achieved hero status by fixing Evan's little yellow car after he was in bed last night

You take them to see the world and they seem terribly blase about the whole thing. But you screw back together a silly little 50 cent yellow die cast car and they worship you for life. That's what it is to be a Daddy, I guess; you win some, you lose some and you never know which it's going to be. You hit this one out of the park, hon...

When we visited Sydney, my daughter's favorite part (to this day) was the hotel. Because it was "fancy." But that was 4 years ago when she was 4, and she still talks about that vacation. We took our son to Monster Jam earlier this year. He didn't even watch half of it, especially the really cool stunts. Yet, he still talks about it like it was the most amazing thing in his life.

Such are kids. And dads will always be heroes for fixing things. (Wish it were so easy for moms!)
